In order to obtain Backflow Prevention Device Worker Certification in the Commonwealth of Virginia, an applicant must show documented proof of four years of practical experience in water distribution systems and 40 hours of vocational training in a school approved by the Board of Contractors.
The State of Virginia's Alternative Path to Certification
There is another path to get this certification for those who can show seven years of practical experience in the trade and 16 hours of formal vocational training in a school approved by the Board of Contractors.
Backflow Prevention Device Worker Recertification will be issued by DPOR upon request along with the required renewal fee every two years.
